I'm thinking I'm going to. Hubby and I are going to see if we can 'request' the nurses we had when we were induced because they were wonderful and we want them to be there when something happy happens.

We had so many visitors bring us treats that we offered all the stuff we couldn't eat to the nurses! Yeah for cream puffs!

Labor happened so fast I didn't even think about bringing anything. I brought them goodies about a month after he was born since my pediatrician is right next to them. They were so shocked to have goodies dropped off, and I wanted to show my appreciation for how great they were.

I probably will, but I work at the hospital in NICU, and it wouldn't be to make them treat me better, but just to give them a thanks! Those girls work hard.

I think the mean ones just tend to be mean or don't handle stress well. I don't think it has anything to do with baked goods at all.

I offered cupcakes to hospital staff because it was a sign of appreciation though, not bribery! bribery for what? It's a hospital, I'm not there like it's a hotel room and I'm on vacation or anything.

As a labor RN... It's def not expected. It's actually always a nice surprise because it doesn't happen that often. :)

I posted this in the spinoff... but we had my in-laws bring bagels with them when they came to meet the baby. We had a scheduled c section so it was easy to plan (including printing out a map to the bagel shop - they are too old for google maps, LOL!).

I worked in L&D and LOVED it when patients would get us treats. It was usually something like bagels or donuts, sometimes pizza. As you said, often there is no time to eat anything so it is a much appreciated gift, not just for L&D but any time. All of our nurses were wonderful (okay, one exception) but no one thanked us for the bagels! I asked one and she said they were enjoyed.

I was planning on it, but only because my husband spent a few days in the hospital a couple of years back and his father sent over a huuuuge basket of goodies for the nurses/phlebotomists/doctors. They were all excited and a lot of the time they were so busy and being able to grab a granola bar was their lunch for the day. Quite a few of them spent a lot of time hanging out with us, and it just made for a nice stay.
I figured it couldn't hurt to have people remember me while I'm there.

I didn't, and they were still all very nice to me. I don't think they expect it, but it's probably a nice surprise for them.

I'm just wondering if this is expected? I have seen some people posts about takig cookies or chocolates for the nurses and after reading Mr Bees post about having mean nurses, I wonder if they are only nice to people who take them goodies.
