I started taking lessons when I was in 4th grade and took them until sometime in high school. I was also in band, and it started taking up too much of my time. My Mum is a piano teacher and her whole family is musical so it was kind of a given that I would learn. From the time I was 4 to 13. The issue was though, I didn't like it. But my parents kept making me go. Even though I hardly ever practiced (and they hardly ever tried to make me practice). So I didn't really progress very fast at all.
