Make sure you wait as long as your doctor recommended. For small surgeries, we take them off after only 2 days, for bigger incisions we wait longer. Just make sure you wait as long as your doc recommended. </p> <p>Taking them off yourself after that point is no big deal. You can always buy little butterfly stickers at a pharmacy if you freak out and feel like you took them off too early. That's what I get for not practicing what I preach! I was told not to pull them off and that they would do so when they were ready. Once one end came off, then I would take the other off. So 2 weeks after the operation. I just let them start to peel off themselves after repeatedly getting wet and soapy in the shower. But I'm a little scared to take them off myself. Its been 6 days since I had the c-section. If you took you strips off yourself how long after surgery did u wait and any advice? </p>
