By that point, I got so fed up with being vague and trying to ignore the "When are you having kids" demands, that I told people who were annoying or asked outright. To some people it's a vague "we'd like to start a family soon." To others who have a better idea, they know - a couple girlfriends are either TTC or pregnant so they know. But I don't come right out and say it either. Getting knocked up was a long drawn out 4.5 yr process so the anticipation & questions from people had died down by that point, thankfully. A couple close friends & family knew about the whole saga which having their support & prayers were helpful. ETA: I had a great experience with Mirena but got mono & my period at the same time which caused some severe cramping & really freaked me out. I decided to just have it removed but I really think it was just the stress and illness causing the problem. I was planning to have it removed this summer anyway to start ttc. But they've been asking since the day we got married so it's nothing new. I always made it very clear I wanted kids sooner rather than later, but said we wouldn't seriously consider it until after our one year. We just had our one year so we decided to take the plunge. When people ask nowadays, I just say: Maybe sometime later this year?? Meanwhile, we are actively trying. After it started taking a while, I told 2 other supportive friends. We also ended up having to tell my ILs. Luckily they don't ask about it much.
