We knew if it was a boy, we would be having a Jr. so that was settled. But then we picked out a girl name right away, too. We told our families, and at this point, most people at least know her nickname, since we tend to call her by that the most. We did get a couple of comments from my Dad about the middle name. His name is Stephen, and his Mom (my grandma's) middle name was Stephanie so we wanted to use something to honor them both for baby girls name. We decided on Stephana and her middle name, since it's a Greek name and DH is Greek. We would have used Stephanie, but her first name rhymes with that, so we didn't want to. In fact, for some people I didn't even tell them I was having a boy! I didn't announce the sex on FB either. I did the same thing this time as well. I've found that people on FB get really mad that I won't tell them the sex of my baby or her name choices. Just because they announced doesn't mean I need to tell you. Sheesh! We made it a word scramble and it was fun seeing what people came up with. Of course we were subject to peoples opinions but we loved the name and that's what mattered to us. Most people liked it though, so that's good. I don't regret sharing it at all. It would have been hard keeping it to myself, especially since EVERYONE asks that the whole pregnancy. For me, I'm glad we waited until after the shower because we got lots of gifts with her name on them after she was born. I think we would have gotten even more if we had announced it before the shower. Personalized stuff is super cute, but not really practical for reusing, loaning, selling, etc in the future. We didn't choose a name for RJ until he was born (and we were team green so we weren't sure yet). Now that we know baby #2 is a girl, we're in the process of choosing a name, and SO many of our friends are pregnant this year, so I'm worried that I'll settle on a name and fall in love with it only to find out that someone else has chosen it as well. I don't think it would make me change my mind but it would definitely make me feel like everyone else thought I'm copying the other person.
