My lo sleeps in her bassinet but we didnt buy the stand. We actually just leave the bassinet on the stroller frame and lock the stroller and keep it next to our bed. It's the perfect height for me to lean over and check on her!

Look on Craigslist, people are always looking to sel the UppaBaby bassinet stands. I didn't bother buying one, I just had her sleepin her crib from day 1. She naps in the bassinet soemtimes but I just put it on the floor for that. She prefers the swing now anyway.

We used a bassinet for about the first 6 weeks for naps/sleep at night. Now we co-sleep at night, but LO usually naps in the bassinet during the day.

I would definitely get a stand for it, it would be a bit awkward to always have to bend down/over to pick LO up. Much easier on your back if they are up higher.

We have the Jolly Jumper stand - it was about $50 new. I would look for a used one too, its not like they suffer from wear and tear!

We borrowed a bassinet from a friend. If we hadn't done that she wouldve either slept in a pack n play or her crib. If you don't have pets I'd be ok with a bassinet on the floor. I don't think it's worth $110 for a stand. Heck, I'd even thought of putting her in a box or laundry basket w some padding!

We didn't even buy a bassinette. DS slept in his crib from Day 1. If you're wanting your LO to be in your room at the beginning, then I would look into a used bassinette. Or, if you're planning on getting a pack & play, you can always use that.

I used the bassinette that came with my stroller every day up until about 8 months of age. It is better to have babies lay fully reclined rather than upright in car seats for extended periods of time (airway constriction risk). Looking back, I would have also brought that stroller/bassinette on vacation, it would have been easier than also bringing a pack and play.

We also had a stationary bassinette for our bedroom, we used that until about 5 weeks then we transitioned to a crib.

@jholler25: I plan on trying to get LO sleeping in the crib from day 1. I'm leaving the guest bed in the nursery for a few weeks so I can sleep in there with him if necessary.

There are cheaper stands if you still wanna use your uppa bassinet. It fits in the jolly jumper rocking moses stand. It comes in a whole bunch of finishes (but with the same stupid white hoop, I don't know why they don't use a darker hoop with the darker finishes!) here's s pic of it with the britax bassinet, but same idea

We have a bassinet that becomes a crib then a toddler bed. Our LO has slept in it maybe 7 times (we now use a co-sleeper) but it's gotten good use as a changing table in the living room.

No way would I spend $100 on a stand for a bassinet! We got a used bassinet with 6 pairs of sheets for $30. It has already been worth every penny. I wouldn't spend more than $50, though since you use it for such a short period of time.

We used it for 6 weeks. I'm glad that we had lo in our room, but for such a short amount of time we could have just used the pack n play.

@Mrs. Bee: Good to know! I kind of feel like no one uses their crib immediately from reading on here, and I was kind of disappointed because I love our crib and it was a bit of an investment!

We thought about getting one, but registered for a co-sleeper and a pack'n'play... after some other posts on here; we decided to use either of those vs. getting a bassinet.

I have the bassinet that comes with my Uppa Baby, and there is a stand for it that's around $110. How long will I be using a bassinet? Do I need to invest in the stand for it? I already spent so much on the stroller, and we spent a lot on our crib too! I understand I won't use the crib immediately...

Did you use a bassinet? Would you recommend getting the stand or should I just set it on the floor?

I don't know why I feel weird about that....
