Never used a bag for either and it was ok! The first time, we did not fold the stroller down, and they asked us to come out and do it, and the way back we folded everything down. No problem either time, and it was super convenient to have the car seat and stroller right there!</p> <p>Also, just a tip, they tried to make us shove our stroller through the xray. I'm not sure if it was the bag, the way the stroller folds (same as the City Mini) or something else, but the stroller did not come out of gate check 2 out of 3 times we hate checked it in Europe.</p> <p>We ended up having to claim it at baggage claim even though it was given to them plane side and it had the proper tag for gate check.
