We did, but we walk everywhere. If you drive a lot and will want to just keep them in their carseats, I would do the snap and go.

I didn't have a stroller of any sort for the first month. I got around by carrying the car seat. Then I got a snap and go and that's all I use at the 4 month mark - if she falls asleep in the car seat, I wouldn't want to take her out to transfer her to another stroller for a quick errand.

@septca: Thanks so much for the info - I hadn't heard that about the double snap and go! Maybe we will rethink the snap and go altogether? There's a Mothers of Twins sale next March in my town, so maybe we'll see if we can find a cheap one there used so if it doesn't work out we won't be out much money. Thanks!

My car seat (Britax B-Safe) snaps directly into my stroller frame (Britax B-Ready), so it's like a *much* better Snap and Go. I wore DD a lot the first few months, but we used the car seat + stroller base until she was about 4 months old - then we switched to the regular stroller seat.

A word of caution - the double snap'n'go SUCKS. We have one we used for the first couple months of our nanny share and the thing is almost impossible to turn, which I imagine would make it a nightmare in tight spaces like a grocery store. I think if you can get a stroller (like the B-Ready or the City Select) that can handle 2 carseats in tandem, you might be happier with that option than with a double Snap'n'Go.

One more thing - at least where I live (because there are so many nanny shares), there is a HOT market for double stroller re-sale. Most of the strollers I see for sale (which go in about 5 seconds) are selling for nearly the retail price. So regardless of what you go with, keep in mind that you will likely be able to sell it when you are done for almost what you paid.

I think as long as the snap n' go is appropriate for walks around the neighborhood you'll be fine. We live in the city, but DS still sits in his chicco keyfit 30 that snaps into our uppababy cruz. But I'm sure you'll want to leave the house without having to pack up the car and drive somewhere, so as long as you can do that then you're fine!

@MrsMccarthy: we had the same stroller for DS and used it from birth too.

We bought a bugaboo for DD and have been using it since birth too with the bassinet attachment. FWIW, we live in a city with no car, so we have to use the stroller.

We got a nice fancy UB Vista with the infant bassinet since we live in the city, walk everywhere, and don't take the car out that often. She HATED the bassinet. I had to wear her for the first few months, then she would tolerate the carseat in the snap and go base, until I finally caved and got the carseat adapter for the UB Vista.

So, if you aren't going for long walks, I think you can definitely do the snap and go base with the carseat. Plus with twins, i imagine it will be a lot easier just getting them to and from the stroller with them in the car seats.

most of the time, we just wore her until she was about 3-4 months old. With twins, i'd probably use the stroller, though! Ours was not a fan of the car seat so she rarely slept in there, anyways. it was kind of a bust for us (which is rare from what I understand!)

We did and my son has always lived the stroller I think as a result. We got the Maclaren Techno XT. It reclines and has inserts for newborns and up. I took him in it for the first one when e was about a week old.

We used the snap n' go for errands and short walks for the first few months, but I also wore her a good majority of the time. We didn't end up needing to get an adapter for our larger, everyday stroller (City Mini), as the aforementioned worked well for us. If we went on longer adventures, I popped her in the ergo or wrap. We only started putting her in the jogger with a snuzzler and bundle me relatively recently.

The snap n' go is convenient when baby's asleep, since you don't have to go through the hassle of transferring. It's not the smoothest ride in comparison to our other stroller, but it gets the job done.

We used our Snap'n Go for short trips and errands but our Mountain Buggy with the Bassinet for longer outings. I'm personally not a fan of babies spending too much time in their infant seat. We also used our pram with bassinet as LO's bed when we travelled.

Despite having an Uppa Baby Vista with a bassinet my LO was almost always just snapped into the car seat when she was a newborn. I think you'll be fine just using the snap and go at the beginning as long as you're not planning on taking super long walks. If they'll be in the stroller for hours then you want to get something where they can lay completely flat because too much time in the carseat isn't good for them.

My husband and I are trying to figure out if we need to get a stroller to use right away, or if we can make do with snapping their carseats into a double snap and go (we're having twins). What did you do?

Here's some additional info about our situation:
- The stroller I want (Bumbleride Indie Twin) is suitable from birth, but cannot accommodate snapping two Chicco Keyfits in side by side (that's the carseat we'd like to get).
- We live in a medium-ish sized town and drive everywhere, so they'll obviously be in their carseats a lot (points for the snap and go).
- I'm thinking we'd mostly need a stroller for walks around the neighborhood, grocery shopping, doctor's appointments, etc. Some of these things (walks) it would be nice to have a nice stroller right off the bat and others (grocery shopping) the snap and go would be preferable. (We also plan on trying to each wear one when we're able to go grocery shopping together).
- They are due in May and the weather here is usually perfect by then, so I am hoping to get them out on walks pretty early on.

We will definitely get a stroller eventually, but we just don't know if we should push to get one before they get here or wait until after so we can see how they tolerate their carseats/the snap and go/being worn. Any advice??
