I had an Amazon registry and one at Buy Buy Baby in case people didn't want to order online. Surprisingly, we didn't have a lot of things purchased from BBB.

I just used an Amazon registry. Guests have the option to reserve that item and buy it elsewhere....although a lot of people don't know that.

I know many people who have the Amazon registry and a Target one as well. In my opinion, two registries are fine but 3+ gets confusing.

LOVE Amazon. But I didn't overlap between that and BRU, my other one. But Amazon was so much cheaper on a lot of stuff that it didn't make sense to send people to stores to pay more.

We have an Amazon registry for our DC friends who rarely shop in a brick and mortar (not to mention it's inconvenient here), and a Babies R Us registry for family and friends in our hometowns that prefer to shop that way.

I have set up an Amazon registry that is private. We will probably have to set up a small registry at Babies R Us or BuyBabyBuy for our relatives who don't shop online but I will probably put everything on Amazon and take it off as things come off of the other site.

We did an Amazon registry for our wedding and it turned out really well. The only problem we had was a few duplicates and the return time period (which is better with the baby registry). We didn't have a bricks and mortar registry, only Amazon, and even the old people figured it out.

@sorrycharlie: I totally missed the cloth diaper stuff at target! Well, I saw the gerber prefolds but looking at them I wasn't too confident in REALLY being able to use them. lol. Does Target carry any covers? *must check out*

And I've liked jilliansdrawer. Found everything I needed and wanted and they carry a nice assortment of baby AND mommy things for breastfeeding, etc.

I just looked at target online, and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of cloth diapering things they have! I think we'll skip amazon and go with them. realistically the only things aside from the diapers that I'd put on there would be the special detergent, which I can buck up and buy myself ;)

@runsyellowlites: I haven't checked out jilliansdrawer yet..I just bought some CDs off diaperjunction. I'll have to look at them!

I decided against the amazon registry, but DID do a CD registry at jilliansdrawer along with our Target registry and a local boutique. I have some friends that have already talked about getting on the CD registry since we're specifying no disposables AND I'm not registering for a whole lot in the store b/c I know the things I actually need vs. don't need this go round... and we're team green.. (makes for less things) =)

i'm registered at buybuybaby and amazon. amazon just has cheaper (in cost) items and they have a good registry return policy. and buybuybaby in case people don't use the internet and want to buy at the store.... like my mom.

We're doing an Amazon UK wishlist (The UK website doesn't have a baby registry option) just because it's an easy way for our friends and family in the States to get things for us and not have to worry about expensive shipping.
We also used Amazon UK for our wedding registry and it worked great.
That said, if people buy things at physical stores, I don't see how the Amazon registry would have access to that info. I think you'd be better off with multiple registries if you are expecting people to buy in-store.

I used myregistry.com as you can put things from different stores on that one site so I didn't confuse people. I did still create a separate registry on buybuybaby just for myself because you get a % discount close to your due date on store websites but myregistry doesn't give you a discount.

wasn't sure where to post this! also we're still TTC..so, I hope I'm not insane for already brainstorming this, but oh well.

I like the idea that with an amazon registry, you can add things from other stores. my point being that we'd like to (eventually! weird that I'm already thinking this?) do target and babies r us, but also register online at a CD website.

I've been fooling around with Amazon wish list, and like that while I'm on target or babiesrus.com I can add things. However, can people still buy those items in store from the amazon registry? I'm afraid I'll confuse people, but I don't know how I feel about 3 registries.

Maybe I'll skip the CD one...or just make it to show close family and not include it on a shower invite.
