I did!
A nurse friend let me borrow hers with explicit warning that if I drove myself crazy with it or called her crying, I'd have to give it back.
It was really cool to hear his heartbeat before I could feel movement.

I didn't with either pregnancy, but was really, really, really tempted to with #2 due to a loss a couple months before we conceived her. However, I was worried I wouldn't be able to find her heartbeat and freak out even more so I sustained.

No I think it would have freaked me out early on and I tend to feel movement very early. (Like 14 weeks).

I am a first time mama and I rented one while I was pregnant. I used it from 15 weeks to 19 ish and I loved having it to ease my mind. I had the same experience as @jlm22: and was surprised my husband let me get it. Haha. I agree with what she said ably seeing my how it is not right for everyone!

I rented one as a FTM and I'm so happy I did. I'm a worry wart so I really liked being able to listen whenever I felt worried. I didnt use it daily though. I was surprised my husband was on board! It was nice listening to the babe in our house with no doctors or anyone else around :) I can definitely see how it's not for everyone though.

Kind of. I used one with both of my pregnancies, and for the second, she was hiding behind a big vein and I couldn't find her even at 16 weeks. It was really stressful, and I wish I hadn't bought it.

I did with both pregnancies - I had a loss at 6 weeks so I was pretty nervous. I felt like I did a good job not stressing out when I couldn't find a heartbeat at 10 or 11 weeks (I only let myself check once a week) and then I found it at 12 and it was really reassuring after that to be able to know he was still in there, if nothing else.

Didn't find it necessary with my first but got one for my second. It's nice to have the confirmation between appointments.

Yes, I did, after my 1st pregnancy was a MC and then being told it was unlikely we'd ever concieve or carry to term. I used the doppler every couple of days 9-17 weeks. It was so relieving whenever my anxiety would get out of hand. I still have some of the heartbeat recordings I made.

I did with my 1st - I was just so paranoid about losing him for some reason - all it did was make me more anxious!

I skipped it with #2!

Yes, with my third pregnancy (first that made it far enough to use one). I loved it. I used it done with my fourth, but at that point my fears weren't of her not having a heartbeat, so it wasn't reassuring anymore.

Yes and I love it! After 2 losses I need the daily reassurance. I would recommend for ftm, it's so wonderful to hear baby's heartbeat whenever you like!!

Yes, with both LOs. I had a m/c at 9 weeks with my first pregnancy, so I was incredibly anxious, especially with LO1. It definitely calmed me down and there were only a couple times I didn't find it. I tried again a few hours later and it was always there.

With my first I had a fetal stethoscope. With this one my mom gave me a doppler, but I haven't used it since she started moving regularly. I have a coworker who just found out she's pregnant so I might see if she wants it.

I didn't with my first, but I did with my second. An HB friend sent me hers! And it was a relief to have it after an early CP loss. I stopped using it when I could feel regular movements, but it helped a lot in the first trimester with my nerves.

I'm not sure I'd recommend it for a first time mom though. (A friend was asking if she should get one.)

Did you use one? Was it helpful? Would you recommend for a FTM?
