@Mrs. Pen: they worked like a charm for DS, my DD took them while very young but then refused. But I really like the concept.

Just one - Avent. Took her a bit to get used to it, but I didn't try multiple bottles b/c I knew she was just stubborn and it wasn't about a bottle!

We tried pretty much everything and the only one she takes is avent natural.

We bought avent, Tommy tippee, and Dr Brown's. We started with the avent and M did fine with them, so we just bought more of those. We have a few tops and nipples for the medela bottles in a pinch. We ended up giving the Tommy tippee ones to my parents for when we're over there or they watch her and she's fine with those too. The Dr Brown's were an insane amount of parts, so I'm so relived she likes the avent, they're so easy!

We mostly use Medela with DD. I had a Medela pump, and she took to them just fine so we just went with it. Occasionally she'll use an Avent that we got as part of the Target registry gift box (I think?) and she takes that one okay, too.

Thanks for all the responses! It's helpful. I think I'll avoid buying just one system and get a couple to try.

@Pumuckl: I hadn't heard of the calma! I looked it up and it looks great. I'll be trying that since I'll be pumping into medela bottles probably. Thanks!

@My Only Sunshine: yeah we were lucky with DS. We had bought all dr browns and he liked them just fine so we never had to deal with anything else.

We tried so many with LO1. It turned out to be more about not wanting a bottle than the differences between the bottles. I sent her to daycare with Medelas because I had those and they were simple. That's what she learned to take. I never offered LO2 anything but Medela.

We tried so many. Tommee ended up being the most with the best luck. So we stuck with those.

With my first we just used the medela bottles with the calma. My second wasn't haven't it so we used MAM anti-colic with her which were the only ones she drank from.

With DS we had a few bottle types but decided we liked the Avent naturals the best and got lots of those.

Now with DD we had a lot of bottle refusal. We went to Buy Buy Baby one night and bought 3 different kinds to try. The one she took the best was really frustrating because it didn't vent well and the nipple kept collapsing. One I hated because it ha way too many parts and she refused it anyways. So we bought a bunch of her second favorite (playtex nursers). After a few days of daycare and no bottle refusal we started again with the Avents and she's had no problems.

DH wants to stick with the Avent because we have a ton of them, but I have to say I like the playtex better. But I'm not sure I want to deal with two different bottle types.

@Mrs. Pen: My first happened to take the kind we had been gifted- Playtex Ventair. My second refused bottles for quite a while. I ended up buying one of every kind of bottle they sell at Target and Walmart and trying all of them. Mam brand was the winner but they have a lot of parts. At 6 months old he drinks out of anything now. We primarily use Tommee Tippee and Nuk brand because they're fewer parts to wash.

We had to try several to get one that DD could take. We ended up using Dr. Brown's. When DS was born he struggled with painful gas so we, again, tried several different ones trying to find something that would minimize air. We ended up using Dr. Brian's again, but this time with the premier nipple for slower flow. If LO isn't picky then I would go for whatever is easiest!

We had a couple random bottles, but overall we used Medela. Easier to have parts that go all with one system. Medelas are simple without extra parts and are pump compatible, so they worked great for us.

Luckily I just used one (playtex) for feeding. Using the same for LO2. I use the medela for pumping.

We hardly had to use bottles with my first, I stayed home with him and when I was away, he was happy with the dr browns bottles we had.

It seems so much more overwhelming this time! I work full time so I'll need bottles and all that. What were your/your baby's favorite bottles? Did you have to experiment to find one that worked with your baby?
