We haven't said anything on FB at 30 weeks, not because we are avoiding it, but I'm not a huge fan of posting many personal details on FB. One friend has made a reference to planning my shower, but she didn't tag me, so I'm not sure anyone even noticed. It's a happy time for you, if they're your friends they will be happy too. I think it's a slap in the face to message them beforehand because if someone had messaged me To say "hey I know you just had a miscarriage but, I'm pregnant! Then mentioned it again at 20w to say I halfway through. Before announcing on facebook we did all our close friends and family.</p> <p>I dealt with IF and while I'd hate for anyone to feel bad about seeing a pregnancy announcement, I wasn't going to keep it a secret either. Didn't want to mess with that!)</p> <p>I made sure ALL family and close friends knew beforehand. I love sharing fun pictures (ex: DH posted a pic of me and his garden and wrote "all my pretty growing things!") and I have no problem with it. I made sure that any friends I knew were trying/struggling knew ahead of time. I hope that I didn't upset anyone who might be trying and I don't know, but then again, if they're struggling and haven't shared we probably aren't that close. I don't post a lot of pictures but I'm on fb so both times it was before a big event where I knew someone was going to post a picture with me in it and I'm obviously pregnant. I keep my friends list small and only limited to people I actually KNOW. I have a lot of out of state friends and a huge extended family that I wanted to tell. Of course immediate family and close friends found out in person first.</p> <p>I posted the gender announcement and I upload my progress pictures I take every two weeks for my book, but I don't actually publish them so they show up on everyone's timeline when I do. I didn't announce the pregnancy on FB and most of my contacts there have no idea I'm preggers unless I've called or emailed them, or unless they live nearby and have seen me. At some point, I'll probably do a big purge to get rid of anyone who isn't actually a "real friend" and maybe then I'll feel comfortable posting more about it. </p>
