We did, but only because we bought them on clearance. I don't think they are necessary and would prob just go straight to underwear.

I never got the point, but my daughter was not prone to small accidents. With us, you made it to the toilet, or you peed on the floor. If you didn't make it, we're cleaning up a mess anyway, so training pants didn't help at all.

Nope, just regular undies and disposable training pants for sleep.

We use them because they absorb a bit (small accident or not wiping well).

DD did good with potty training but would occasionally have accidents so when we switched to panties we used these with a cover to protect her clothes instead of a pullup. They helped absorb whereas regular panties did nothing to absorb. We have some for DS and plan to start him in them once he gets more reliable on using the potty.

@mediagirl: in the early days they are awesome for the simple fact that they help absorb the pee when she doesn't wipe very well. DD's undies were damp and she was irritated - Ped said she sees this all the time and its because they aren't wiping fully (DD would blot and run - LOL) so these are a little thicker and help keep her dry

I went shopping for undies for our daughter yesterday and saw these. Have you used training pants or did you go straight to undies? What's the deal with trainers?
