Just about everyone walked by themselves to it. Only the kids that lived more than a couple miles away got driven and dropped off, and most of them just carpooled. I used to have to get on the bus super early or get a ride with my dad if he was subbing at school that day. </p> <p>This is a big point of contention between me and my husband since he used to walk to and from school at a very young age- he is fine with it and calls me overprotective. I guess we'll see what kind of neighborhood we live in and how far we are from school when the time comes. Middle school was too far away. Then we moved to an apartment and I walked to school with at least 2 other kids, up through middle school. In high school, I walked by myself.</p> <p>I drove today during school hours and saw quite a few elementary kiddos walking by themselves. I'm sure their home was only a few blocks away though. I think I will definitely walk with my LO or drive her until high school! </p>
