We watched the entire debate. I was really pleased with O'Malley's closing remarks ... This debate felt progressive and respectful.

I was really hoping that I would feel "Team Clinton" or "Team Sanders" after this debate, but I'm still super torn. Clinton was extremely strong and on-point. I agree more with Sanders, but he just doesn't seem presidential ... DH suggested that's the appeal.

Webb was hard to watch. Poor guy.

And while I didn't think I'd be voting republican, reading the GOP candidate's live tweets solidified that even more.

Our local public radio described Hillary's performance as steering a container ship, and Bernie's as navigating a kayak through white water. Loved that.

I'm usually in bed by 9:00, but I stayed up to watch the debate! I really enjoyed it! I liked how they actually talked about issues and seemed pretty respectful of each other, even when criticizing.

I thought Clinton was the winner, although I definitely liked Sanders too. Clinton just seemed more "presidential" to me. She seemed confident and competent and seemed to know what she was talking about. Sanders came across as very passionate, but I felt like overall, Clinton had plans for multiple issues and a better understanding of how to actually get things done.

Webb came across as petulant... I wasn't a fan.

I watched the entire debate, and disagree about Anderson Cooper being a good moderator. Jim Webb was whiney about not getting enough response time – but he also had a point. Cooper let Clinton, and Sanders somewhat, talk on and on and on well past the established timeframes, multiple times, while Cooper cut off the other candidates, multiple times. I really like Anderson Cooper, but I don’t think he was at all fair with his treatment of the candidates.

Webb is interesting, because he’s been a really useful tool for the Dems for many years and he’s helped the party tons, for a long time. At this point in time though, he’s completely out of step with the party; and he came across quite poorly, in my opinion. He’s a good visual of how much the party has changed.

On the other end, Chafee is a great example of how the Republican party has shifted. I actually like Chafee well enough, though not for president. He’s been consistent in his views and politics for decades, and that has led him to leave the Republic party, run as an Independent, and now identity as a Democrat. It isn’t his positions or politics that have changed, it’s the parties and the divide between that’s changed.

I think O’Malley is definitely running for VP.

I don’t know who “won”. I am happy to vote for either Sanders or Clinton. Even though I am in strong favor of gun restrictions and new legislation, I thought it was completely unfair to hold Sanders votes and statements from the 80’s on gun rights against him now. We were not having young men shoot up schools, churches, etc on a weekly basis then. Different world. And he’s right about rural and urban gun ownership being different.

I liked how substantive the debate was.

I think that Clinton "won", but Sanders did very well (I personally support Sanders, but I won't hold my nose to vote if Clinton gets the nom). She just seemed more polished, prepared, and on point.

I get the feeling that O'Malley is running for VP. Webb came off as awkward and petulant, in turn, and he and Chafee both made me wince a lot.

Overall I enjoyed it. I'm a liberal democrat, and it was nice to see actual issues being debated instead of just mud-slinging.

I tend to vote for Democrats but I try to watch all of the debates because I find them interesting. Did anyone else watch the Democratic debate last night? Thoughts? It was definitely much different than the last Republican debate!

I thought Clinton and Sanders did the best, though I liked a lot of O'Malley's responses as well. And I thought Anderson Cooper was an awesome moderator.

Who do you think "won" the debate?
