@travelgirl1: it's still pretty easy to lift up since you're not wearing bottoms. i even wore the gown tying in the front for easier breastfeeding!

I wore pjs at 8pm (when visiting hours closed) til morning.
During the day I wore yoga pants and long shirts, or a t-shirt-material empire-waist dress (cheapy from Walmart..BF friendly...bought 2 just for the occasion and now they are my 'fancy' pajamas)

I packed PJs, but just wore the hospital gown the whole time. It was easier for breastfeeding and having them check my stuff. I ended up losing a lot of blood and not starting a blood transfusion until the evening of the 2nd night, so I couldn't get out of bed to change without passing out anyway. I don't think I would have ruined any pjs though. I bled quite a bit, but I could have worn normal pads and been fine.

I was kind of a train wreck after birth so I stayed in the hospital gown, even though I had brought jammies and yoga-y clothes. I was bleeding and sweating (hot flashes), so I had them bring me a new gown twice a day and had a cozy fleece robe for when I needed a layer or walked around.

I wore the hospital gown the first day. By the second day, I wanted my clothes. I put on soft and loose yoga pants and a nursing tank. It felt great to have my own clothes on.

@Mrs. Bee: I didn't know if the gown would make it harder to check on the incision, if it opens backwards?

I wore the hospital gown. I was bleeding so much that I didn't want to wear clothes. Also when you have a c-section, nurses/doctors/interns come in around the clock to check on your incision. At least that was the case in my hospital. It was easier just have a gown on.

I wore a nursing gown and robe over that. I felt 1000x better after I put on my own clothes. Lots of people say not to bring your own clothes because they will be ruined but I didn't get anything yucky on my clothes at all. I might wear the same thing when I give birth to #2!

I wore the hospital gown. I brought pj's, but not only did I not want to bloody them up but the gown made it easy for the nurses to check me. I had a bad tear so it hurt to move, and the gown was easier to just pull up.

If my planned c section goes ahead next week, I'll probably be in the hospital for two days afterwards. Everyone keeps telling me to take pjs or a nightie (not happening, my legs are way too swollen for that!!!!) but I think I want to wear normal clothes as looking a bit more put together might help me feel better.

Did you wear nightclothes or normal clothes? If regular clothes, what did you wear?
