Both DH and I have chronic illnesses (migraines and crohns) so we've both been on lots of meds for a long time. I thought that it had to effect at least one of our bodies, if not both. But I got pregnant after my 2nd try. I basically don't ovulate at all on my own due to PCOS. We've technically been trying for 4 months, but it's only been 3 cycles, and I haven't ovulated on my own yet. It's kind of hard to consider us "trying" when it's kind of pointless :-S. I also knew that there was a possibility of miscarrying so that helped make the decision to just take the jump and start trying. We were lucky to get pregnant during the first cycle but then miscarried at 12 weeks. I selected "Yes, but we got a BFP quickly", we did, but now it is three months after we began trying and I'm currently not pregnant. I worried hard! It's partly why I wanted to bring TTC forward. But I agree that it depends on what you consider "a while". It took my BFF a year (including 2 m/c) and she doesn't consider that a long time, whereas I consider more than 3 months a long time and, with my long cycles, we're approaching 3 months since I came of the pill. I guess once I do get a BFP, I'll have 5 million other things to worry about!<br /> I will say that going off the pill and starting to chart early helped alleviate some of my fears, since at least I knew my cycles regulated quickly and that I was ovulating.
