My ds has been tiny since he was born. He's always followed about the 5-10% curve in weight and height at every visit, so even though he doesn't gain much my pedi doesn't usually worry unless he goes below our normal trajectory. He's also uber active so I think that doesn't help in the weight gaining area. However, I think he has really sprouted in both areas recently and I'm curious to see what percentile he's in for both at our 15 month visit.

@lamariniere: My lo has always been on the small side, our ped isn't concerned because she's right on track for every milestone. She's 15 months and I weighed her this morning and she's still 16lbs. She has a healthy appetite, but she's super active and running all day!

@blackbird: she's not walking alone yet, but she's very active crawling/climbing and hanging on to my legs. :silly: I definitely noticed her formerly chunky thighs thinning out as soon as she became mobile.
@ShootingStar: I have a chart, but the ped never gives percentiles. I've compared her to 3 charts (US, FR and Austria) and she's all over the place depending on the country. :silly:
@avivoca: I'm average height but my DH is tall (6'2) so I'm not sure where she will end up as far as genetics goes.

MIne gained well until about 6 months and since then has only gained about three pounds. She also fell on her height curve, but my pediatrician is not concerned. We are not very tall (I'm 5'5 and my husband is 5'6), so here genes suggest that she will be short as well.

Mine did, and she was even smaller. She followed her curve, so no one was concerned.

Do they chart the growth curve there? D hovers around the 60th percentile, sometimes higher sometimes lower. The last time we were in for a sick visit I realized he'd only gained 1.5 pounds in 2 months. But when I look at his chart he actually went from 63% at 9m3d to 68% at 11m1d.

Is she walking? E started walking at 10 months and leaned out big time! She's 19 months and still only about 23 lbs!

well you know my LO is and always has been a peanut, but yes. She grew ahead of her curve for the first few months and then as soon as she became mobile that stopped. She's only 16 pounds :) no one is concerned because in her case she was small to begin with, but i get nervous and weigh her a lot still, mostly because she doesn't drink milk. that said, she's doing great developmentally, so i try not to get too concerned. your girl is perfect!!!

He followed his growth curve until he was 6 months or so and then it started to plateau a bit. Once he reached one it really slowed down. He's barely 26lbs at 2.5 so he's small, but he eats well and developmentally is on track so I try not to worry. I do track his weight more frequently just to make sure he is gaining some.

Mine were great at gaining weight up until they crawled! Now it is soooo slow but their heights are on track/fine so I'm not too concerned. I have considered getting those toddler shake/supplement things but since the ped isn't worried, I'm not.. My DD is 2 now and she is still on whole milk, though.

My DD is 11 months and we saw the ped today, mostly for a few vaxes. I asked him to weigh her since our last visit was in July (regular visits are much less frequent here). She has only gained 1lb since July, and she's a peanut at about 17.3lbs. The ped didn't say anything about it, but it has me worried. My DS consistently gained weight the 1st year (and was about 23lbs at the same age), so I can't help but compare them. She seems happy and developmentally on track in all areas.

Any other slow weight gainers? Did your ped voice concern or recommend anything? We go back next month for her full 1 year checkup, so I'm sure we will discuss it then.
