I started waiting longer between feedings and giving him solid food first and then only nursing if he seemed like he wanted to, until I was down to morning and night, and he dropped those on his own (first night, then morning) - he started resisting and pushing me away when I'd offer so I just gave up offering. He self weaned at 16.5 mos. DD is still nursing 4x/day and once over night at 13 mos and shows no interest in weaning or drinking any kind of milk/milk alternative. I'm still pumping 2x/day at work. But I was working out of the house 7:30am-5:30/6pm since he was 7 weeks old. He was also walking by then and just didn't want to sit still with me if he was awake. And even then they still wanted it during the day sometimes.
