Anecdotally, I am in a mommy group of about 40 women and I'm one of a tiny handful that formula feeds. From talking with everyone, it also seems that I am one of the very few whose baby naps consistently and sleeps through the night (the LOs are between 3 and 4 months old now). He didn't sleep longer when he would drink formula. He was ff and she is ebf. Before putting him to bed, I gave him a bottle of 50/50 formula and breastmilk (he nursed the rest of the day). It didn't help him sleep longer any night we tried - in fact he woke up an hour earlier a couple nights than he normally does. Maybe I would need to switch him to 50/50 for all feedings during the day to see a change but I feel it's a myth. I feel like anecdotally I have heard that so many babies slept better once on formula.</p> <p>We started formula on Sunday for medical reasons and now my baby gets 50/50. Since Sunday he started sleeping through the night (7 hrs, then 8 hrs, then 9 hrs, then 9.5). Coincidence? Hmm. He's 4 months. </p>
