I was back to my pre-pegnancy size by about 3.5 months postpartum, so I was able to wear my old clothes. However, over time, I started gaining weight back, so I eventually needed to go up a size. I have clothes in two different sizes, but now that I'm pregnant, I'm wearing maternity clothes. Not sure if I'll lose the weight as quickly the second time around

I went back to postpartum size. But I also purged old clothes anyway. I did stay up a cup size in bras. I started dressing differently and sizing up post baby too.

I got pregnant at 10 months post partum and by that time I was still 1 size bigger in clothes and about 5 sizes bigger in bras. I'd lost all the weight but I was a bit wider. But by 6 months post partum after my second, I was wearing clothes I wore on my honeymoon. It took lots of exercise and an elimination diet.

I have had 2 LOs and I fit in all of my pre-LO1 clothes. I would definitely wait to toss things until a few months after you have weaned. My youngest is 18 months, I weaned at 14.5 months and found that I still lost a bit of weight and my boobs got a little smaller after fully weaning.

I updated my work clothes after DD2, I'm actually weighing less than I did before I got pregnant 3 months PP, but I needed new clothes that fit my body. I'm back in my pre-pregnancy clothes (I worked very hard to get there) but I can tell some things just fit different. I've stopped wearing some shirts because they just don't fit right.

I was able to go back to the same size clothes 8 months and 13 months (respectively) after working my butt off and watching what I ate. Once I stopped nursing, I started to gain it back, but I adjusted what I ate and worked out more.

Now, I might be the same size, but I can definitely tell my hips are much wider than they were and my stomach will never be fully "flat" again.. I don't have stretch marks but my skin was definitely stretched.

Some of my shirts still fit pretty well (I always wore loose tops anyways), but I've had to replace all shorts & pants since I weigh less now than pre-pregnancy. (I'm keeping the bigger stuff for when I have another baby though)

No! Don't purge them yet- you might regret it! I wasn't back into my pre-preg size until after a year postpartum. I was convinced I'd just always be one size bigger, but aside from seemingly permanently larger boobs, things went back enough I can wear my old stuff and I'm glad I kept it! Get a few things that fit you and make you feel good now, but tuck the other stuff away for a bit and just wait and see.

I have no idea. I've been pregnant and/or breastfeeding since 2012. Most things fit after #1 some things fit after #2 but I used to be 36C/D and nursing I'm 38F. Most of the stuff that does fit doesn't work for nursing or the playground.
Maybe someday I'll revisit the box of clothes taunting me from the basement. Until then it's button downs, nursing tanks, and stretchy pants. :silly:

@Rockies11: Yes! I honestly don't eat bad (or that much, even with breastfeeding), I don't exercise but I'm def active (how am I not losing weight holding a 17lb baby daily?!). But for the past few months it's those last ~10 lbs that just won't go!! And you are right... She is my 1st so this is long from being over!

@avivoca: @hellobeeboston: So I'm not crazy thinking my rib cage expanded! So many of my shirts are so tight (and I knew it was more than just the bigger boobs)

@Canoli: Sigh same here!

@FaithFertility: 100% agree! Do I feel better b/c I "fit" into my old size? Or do I feel better that I feel comfortable in a bigger size?!

@Pumpkin Pie: Haha me too. Totally in denial. I had been going up a size needed some BF friendly things, but otherwise I just keep status quo of not losing weight, but not buying new clothes either!

I am now 2 years out from my first, 2 months out from my second. I haven't weaned so I can't speak to that, but I did go up in size both on tops and on bottoms. Despite a lot of working out and clean eating, the shape of my body changed and I gained 10 lbs that absolutely wouldn't come off and the kind of wardrobe that I had needed changing too. I had a lot of fitted dresses, high waisted skirts, slim cut tops and pants. They didn't fit well anymore (and lots didn't fit at all) and they weren't flattering. I kept some of my favorite things in the off chance they would fit again some day, but otherwise I let the rest go. I think in making the decision whether or not to let things go, you need to think about having more children and the spacing, the fit, and whether different clothes might flatter a postpartum body more!

I'm 9.5 months pp and most of my pre-pregnancy shirts fit fine - a few button-down shirts are tight, but I haven't completely weaned yet, so I think they'll fit again soon. My ribcage didn't expand, though (just wearing a larger cup size for now). Most of my pre-pregnancy pants fit, but some are still too small. I'm still holding out hope that they'll fit after I stop BFing altogether, but it's okay if they don't. I'm still about 7lbs over my typical pre-pregnancy weight - besides the boobs, most of it appears to be in my thighs, so it makes sense that my "skinny" pants still don't fit!

I lost all the weight and fit in my normal clothes about 4 months post partum the first time. But I worked out / ran starting at 6 weeks.

This time I fit into my clothes around 4 months but bottoms were still super tight til 5 months. I lost all the weight by 6 months but my body looks very different. I have a tummy and my boobs are still big b/c of breastfeeding. I started working out more seriously around 4 months pp.

It can still happen - but it may not happen til after you stop BF!

I'm 9 months pp, and while I was breastfeeding, my pre-pregnancy clothes beautifully, even better than they did before I was pregnant. When I stopped breastfeeding, everything got so tight, and flabby! I bought some tshirts, and a pair of jeans 1 size up. I'm determined to get back to my prepregnancy size because I do not want to buy a whole new wardrobe. I don't look flattering these days, but I'm just hoping its temporary. I'm in denial.

For the most part my pre-pregnancy clothes fit. I'm 5pp and back to my normal weight. My boobs are the same size as before but just more deflated. I feel like by rib cage expanded but I measured it and it's the same. Some tops that don't have stretch and were tight in the ribs to begin with are a no go at this point. I'll keep them around to see if they eventually fit. The rest of my clothes all fit though.

The only items I'm considering tossing are body hugging dresses made of thin material. I have a little belly pooch that wasn't there before so even though the dresses fit, they just don't look the way I'd like.

I made the mistake of donating a lot of my pants at 4 mo PP but by 9 mo I could fit into my old clothes. My chest was still larger cause I was breastfeeding but I think once I'm done having kids and they're all weaned I'll be in a pretty similar size I was before. Probably with less boob and a little extra around the middle.

Sadly yes. My youngest is 14 months old and while I am the same weight as I was pre pregnancy my boobs are much saggier and my belly is just bigger. I could squeeze into my shorts that I wore before getting pregnant but it gives me an unflattering muffin top. I suppose I could diet and exercise but this mama has no time for that!
