We were shocked that he was even given the opportunity given that we adopted. He was really involved and was able to help deliver LO and be the first person to hold her and to hand her to me, as well as cut the cord. He's said that it was something really special for him and he felt it was a privalege to be the one to separate us after we were connected for so long. I'm just glad it worked out so that he could.</p> <p>Our friends husband was also looking forward to this but when he cut the cord blood sprayed all over him! When the time came, he did end up cutting the cord. I have no memory of this, though, as I was taking in the fact that I just pushed out a person. The ambulance wasn't able to get there for several minutes.
