We never discussed it beforehand, I was happy for him to do whatever he was comfortable with. The midwife was delivering the baby and dh was standing beside her watching everything and waiting for his chance to cut the cord. I also had a mirror though and he helped our midwife catch LO after her head was out so he was really involved and definitely not squeamish. I love it and am hopeful it will be the same for our next child. After 2 hours of pushing, I was wheeled into the OR for my emergency C, and that's when he wished he hadn't looked.
