I didn't want to hear it if anyone didn't like it. After he was born and we announced his name, we only got positive responses- well except for one. </p> <p>My husband's grandfather asked his mom why we chose such a "modern" name. She's very opinionated and I didn't want her to negotiate names with me or think of alternatives. BUT she's been constantly bugging me about names, so I finally gave her 3 names - names I do not like (buff sounding girl names, instead of the real names). </p> <p>It was so funny hearing her responses. I let her marinate on those names for a few days and when I called again she had a 3 different names in mind, so she told me. The 2nd name she picked out was the name we chose!!! She thought they were ok, but then she proceeded to make other suggestions for us, and said that we should name the babies after someone famous (like a heroine in a novel). Keep in my mind that my mom gave me and my sister VERY common names! We're gonna stick with our chosen names, but I'm annoyed that my mom is being this way! </p> <p>Did you have a family member who wasn't thrilled with the name(s) you picked out for LO? </p>
