I didn't bother to check what time it was when she was born, so I assume they were correct...but they measured her wrong. They told us she was 19 inches in the hospital, and 3 days later at her first doctor's appt she was 21 inches...so unless she had a major growth spurt of 2 inches in the first 3 days of her life I'm assuming they were wrong.

When I was born the hospital put the wrong day on my birth certificate. (I was born in the evening of one day and they put the next day on the cert. My folks caught the error.)

@THEMCMOM- I don't think it is too far out, I was in fact born at 9:10 am.

Our doctor had to ask the RN what time Wombat was delivered because he forgot to look. However, I think it's weird that she was born at 6:20am. Really, I bet it was 6:18 or something and they rounded to 20.

I thought I was weird for questioning that.

I am pretty sure they were acurate, someone said the time basically as soon as she was all the way out. She was born at 12:59pm

Oh wow, I never thought of checking the time. Maybe they did round it up or down seeing they gave me 10:50 as a time. I guess I'll never know.

We thought the birth was 5:14am but the card from his bassinet read 5:19am. I have no idea what his birth certificate says... come to think of it, I guess I should get a copy...!!!

8:03 pm, saw it right on the huge a** clock that was over the doorway. That clock was haunting me for my entire active labor!

I wasn't awake for the birth of my son, so I have no way of knowing. At his followup visit after we were discharged they measured him and noticed that they must have recorded his height incorrectly because he would have otherwise shrunk!

i think doctors guestimate sometimes. and sometimes they don't call it the second it happens. like recording someone's death.

The nurses called it at 1:43 PM, and I think they were pretty accurate. I vaguely remember her shouting it out loud right after the midwife placed the baby on my body.

Is it possible that your phone and the hospital clocks are just off by a couple minutes? Or maybe they are both off - one a minute fast, one a minute slow?

I wish I knew but I wasn't paying attention nor was my husband. Human errors are bound to happen. At least it was nothing life threatening that they missed up. Now that is scary when I hear of those stories.

My times were accurate. But what was incorrect....on Sebastien's discharge papers from the NICU, part of his summary said that he was not an identical twin. But he was....we had the hospital go back and verify and update his medical records.

I didnt look to see what time it was because i had a c-section and was knocked out. I had stopped breathing and they didtn even have time to get cliff into the operating room, so i'm assuming they got the right time. They had to grab Jovani immediately and rush him to the NICU to get him breathing, on heart monitors and oxygen because my placenta died and he turned breech.

The hospital recorded Olive's birth as being at 1:50 am. But I was taking detailed notes on my iPhone (so that Bee could blog it later), and Olive was born at 1:52 am!

It never occurred to me that the hospital might record such an important detail incorrectly!

Did you happen to look at your watch or phone when your baby came into this world? Did the hospital get the time of birth right?
