With my second, my water didn't break until 6 cms, right after I got an epidural. She said some women are EXACTLY the same, they give birth exactly the same way each time. Some women don't. (how helpful, right?) With DD I was induced at 40 weeks 6 days, with DS my water broke at 37 weeks 1 day. First time, I felt really early waves of contractions for a whole afternoon and evening... We ran errands, had dinner, went to BRU... All the while, contractions were soft, but regular.</p> <p>The second time, I only had about 30 mins of mild contractions before realizing they were getting stronger and more frequent real quick. Basically, I didn't have much of that "early labor", or if I did, I didn't realize it because I was doing my morning routine of dropping DD off at preschool, cleaning up the apt in a frenzy before she came home, etc...
