Wagon Jr. took it from day one. We started out with soothies but they were a bit big for his mouth so we switched to avent, and those worked great, so we never even tried a different one.

I bought some MAMs this weekend and they're working really well! I think not having the little ring/handle helps a lot. There's less there for her little hands to accidentally knock out.

Thanks everyone!!

LO wouldn't take one for the first 3-4 weeks (which we were kind of happy about), but then my SIL came to visit and pretty much forced it in her mouth constantly so now she takes one. MAM is the only brand she will take.

DD like the soothie from the first time they put it in her mouth in the hospital. I never had to try another brand.

We had the soothie so we'd help keep it in her mouth. But she didn't like it anyway, it would never last. She likes her thumb better :)

It took DS 2 months to take a pacifier and I knew he liked to comfort suck because he sucking on our finger would always soothe him. I just kept trying different kinds and finally discovered the MAM pacifiers. He despised he soothies/gumdrops and would always spit them out!

It took a while for my baby to understand the pacifier. It can still be a little tough to get her to take it, but I keep at it b/c it really helps her to fall asleep when she's tired. I was using the soothies pacifiers at first, but found that they fall out really easily. Then we tried Tommy Teepee, which stayed in much better, but she doesn't like them. Now we're using MAM, and I think we've found a winner!

Did your LO take to a pacifier right away or did it take a little patience and training?

I know ours likes it, when it falls out she'll root for it and when we actually successfully get it in, she sucks away and is soothed but she has a really hard time initially getting it in.

Any tips? We're using the Nuk orthodontic ones. We've also tried the gum drop and other more nipple-like styles and have had even less luck with them.
