It could be a growth spurt (12 wks ish) or start of 4 month!

We're in thick of the 4 month regression that started just past 15 wks and he'll be 16 wks tomorrow. i want my STTN baby back!!!!!!

The 4 month sleep regression supposedly starts around 15 wks, so it could be! I hope not, but if it is there are pllenty of us dealing with it and we can commiserate :)

@PrincessBaby: Ha ha, that's exactly how we felt. I started to live my life in 90 minute cycles and dread the next nap time because she would fight like a boxer, seriously. We used to put her in the Ergo and walk around the apartment lobby as a last resort and she would cry and people would look at me like I was a terrible mum and I would want to punch them and... then she'd only sleep for 20 minutes. In fact I think I wrote a million 'sleep' posts on here recently. What helped in the end was I stopped rocking/walking with her all the time because I was having to do it for hours and started sitting with her in the glider and letting her cry. It was horrible (but preferable to letting her do it in her crib as we're not ready to sleep train) but I reasoned that at least I was holding her and we physically couldn't keep walking/rocking like mad people. Anyway it started to work and she actually started getting comforted by my armpit, ha ha, she'd kind of lean into it, sigh and faceplant into it. Now she's much easier to get down to nap but night times are still hard. I can usually get her down easily but then she'll wake up half an hour later hysterical and then she usually needs a good cry (in my arms) to get her back down again. Sorry for the massive essay, just sometimes it helps to know other babies are doing the same thing : )

@PrincessBaby: totally having the same kind of night. I can absolutely commiserate right now. S is usually an awesome sleeper, but being crazy feisty tonight. I have no advice, but at least if you go crazy you won't be there alone.

Ah we started with that around three months too. She also went from no night feeds to two. She's dropped the night feeds again now (she's 4 months 1 week) but I dreamfeed her before I go to bed. She has stopped fighting naps quite as hard, but we're struggling at bedtime... We can get her down okay but she'll wake up inconsolable half an hour later. It did start around 3 months. Hope H doesn't go through it for long...

You might be. DD is 4 1/2 months. What I think was our 4 month sleep regression hit at about 3 months and 2 weeks. She was a stellar 7:30-4, 4:30-8 every night. All of a sudden, she started waking every 3 hours for a few days, every 2 hours, every hour, and then every 45 minutes 2 nights in a row. After that awful weekend, we did a little bit of sleep training, and she'll still wake up every hour before midnight, but she puts herself back to sleep (most of the time) after a minute of crying and after midnight, sleeps til about 4:30-5. I'll take it for now and i'm hoping it's not going to get any worse!

You could be. DS went through a growth spurt right around the same age as H and that messed with his sleep schedule. She might be getting overtired too? I had to let DS CIO for some naps otherwise I was paying for it at night.

H has been soooooooo Whiney the past few days when she's tired but she FIGHTS sleep so hard, and basically acts like naps are her arch nemesis! She's 3m1 week, and she has always been super easy to knock out with a little boob! Then starting a few days ago, she keeps popping off and crying, latching back on, rinse and repeat -every few seconds. So I gave up on nursing and for the first time ever, I got her to sleep without nursing, with 15 minutes of standing/rocking her in my arms. She Whiney-cried the whole time until she passed out.

Also, with the exception of last night, she has been sleeping 10-330 or 4 instead of until 5 or 6.

Are we staring the 4 month sleep regression in the face?
