We've always had a reaction with both kids :(
I'm very pro vaccination but I dread them. Penny just had her 12 month lot and we had a few really miserable days.

Hope your LO recovered quickly.

My LO always has a low grade fever after vaccinations, and he is now 2.5. As he got older, I would preemptively give him Tylenol after the shots and just closely monitor for the rest of the day. The fever was always gone within 24 hours.

Awwww :(

DD only reacted to her 12 month shots. She got a fever, vomiting, rash and fussy for about a week. It was hell!

2 months yep:( think it was 100.1. Gave her Tylenol and she was fine. After her 4 month shots I gave her Tylenol right away, doctor said it was fine, since she had to go to day care right after.

My LO had no reaction at 2 months but spiked a fever after the 4 month ones. Woke up in the middle of the night to one hot, sweaty, grumpy baby! I don't think it'll happen every time (I hope not at least!) :)

Poor guy!

c had a horrible reaction to her 2 month shots. Spiked a high fever 103, I think, and screamed for 4 hours straight. I couldn't get a hold of my husband at work so I remember my mom leaving her job to come over and help me. It was scary!

No reaction at 4 months, but similar fever/crying at her next set of vaccines. No reaction since.

@Ree723: I totally agree with the love/hate! I'm so excited he got them, because now I can take him out more without worrying as much. I'm so glad he's protected. However, I hate to see him in pain!

Oh poor little guy! I have a love/hate relationship with vaccinations (love what they do, hate the process and temporary side effects!). We had reactions after some shots but everything has been fine.

2 months: 100.6 fever, very tired, slept all day. We gave her Tylenol according to the dosage chart/schedule for 12 hours and she was fine less than 24 hrs later

4 months: 103.6 fever, and projectile vomiting. Gave Tylenol at regular intervals for 24 hrs, stripped her down, kept cool cloths on her, and had the on call doctor come out to see her. She was fine 36 hrs later.

6 months: gave Tylenol before the shots (they recommend not doing that here so we hadn't done it the previous two times) and kept it up for 12 hours afterwards. No fever, no tiredness, perfectly fine. We didn't get the last dose of Rotavirus though (missed the window due to traveling), which is the likely cause of the previous vomiting.

12 months: No pre-emptive Tylenol as LO wouldn't take it and no reaction whatsoever. None. :-)

I hope that helps - despite early reactions, subsequent shots were fine! Hope C feels better soon!

Yup, she gets a fever after her vaccinations (every time, so far). Usually the fever comes 1 day after the shots and she is crabby for a day or so.

He reacted to the 2 month vaccinations, then proceeded to sleep A LOT. No reaction to the 4-month vaccs though! (I was hoping he'd sleep a lot again, lol).

C spiked a borderline fever (100.3 rectally) this afternoon after his 2 month vaccinations. My poor bubba. He screamed and cried when he got the shots. It was so sad! I've never seen him that upset. (I cried big tears too, for the record. My husband thought I was crazy for crying!). Even though it's a borderline fever, I gave him the Tylenol because he seems fussier than normal.

Did your LO have a reaction to vaccinations? I'm wondering if this will happen every time.
