@Bao: LO has gone through phases where it takes a while to fall asleep at nap time but we kept them up. she is now 4 and I think she is showing additional signs of being ready to drop the nap because not only does it take her a long time to nap but then at night she has a hard time falling asleep. On days when she doesnt nap she can fall asleep right away so we are phasing the nap out gradually.

Yes. Starting a little bit after age 2 (maybe 27 months), DS1 would take forever to fall asleep for naps and/or just didn't fall asleep several times a week. He was completely done napping by age 34 months.

B is also 2.5, and while he falls asleep easily at nap and sleeps usually 2.5 hour until we wake him up, he's a nightmare at bedtime. On the days where he has a short nap (he'll only sleep 45 minutes in the car or stroller) he falls asleep at bedtime no problem. I'm torn on what to do!

LO is 3 and still naps most days. Around 2.5 I thought she was dropping it but it's back, most days. I think they just go through phases where they nap better or worse. I just kept putting her in her room for nap and told her if she couldn't sleep she still had to rest. That worked better some days than others but now she is back to napping most of the time. Days with no nap are no fun for anyone.

LO2 is almost 2.5 and lately she has been taking a long time to fall asleep at nap time. I'm wondering if this means she will be dropping her nap soon. I really really hope not, I need her to nap!
