Yep, we started using it when he got colicky. RNP plus swaddling made for better baby sleep. We used until he was 4 months old. One night, he just seemed too big for it and switched him into his crib elevated by towels underneath. The RNP is great for those early colds too because it helps with drainage. LO is sick with cold and/or teething. He can't quite get comfortable in his crib with his drainage, so it sucks right now.

yep! She refused to sleep flat until 10 weeks old. It was very nice to have next to the bed and so easy to move. Just beware, we had a TOUGH time breaking her of the habit of sleeping in there! She loved that thing so much!!

Yep! DS was in it until almost 4.5 months, then we moved him to the bassinet part of the PNP in our room. He had reflux so the angle of the RNP was perfect for him.

Sure did!
I feel like the Rock N Play is an ideal co-sleeper. It's angled, breathable mesh sides, rocks and folds up so easy it can be stored under the bed or in a closet, lightweight for travel.
DS was in it next to the bed and it really helped with breastfeeding. He was within an arms reach whenever he needed me.
I would also bring him into the bathroom with me in his RnP for when I needed to shower.
When he started to sit up, we would sit him in it to feed him.

We did that exact thing, LO in the rock and play next to our bed. At around 3 weeks old we put her in her crib in her room. If she wakes in the night and won't go back to sleep, we put her in the rock and play again.

@meganmp: same! We have a pack and play in our bedroom, but she hates lying flat. It's been the bouncy seat for most naps AND overnights...and approved by our pediatrician.

Yup LO was in there until about 14 weeks. We have since moved her to the pack n play. We wanted her to get used to sleeping flat but we still wanted her in our room with us.

no, he slept in his carseat the first month(it was the only way to get him to sleep, and was ok'd by his pediatrician) and we would just put that in the PnP. then from 2-4 months he slept in the PnP at the foot of our bed

Yup. She slept in it for naps and bedtime for about 7 weeks. When we decided to move her to her crib we gave her a few naps in the crib and then just moved her, but with a towel under the edge of the matress to elevate it a bit. Eventually we just removed that so the matress was flat. It was an easy transition.

We used the rock and play in our room for a week or two maybe then moved it to her room next to her crib bc she just slept so great and our noise was bothering her. She slept so great in it...I was afraid of her getting addicted to it do I transitioned her to the crib around 9-10 weeks...that was a small nightmare at the time but ended up being no big deal. I'm not 100% sure if I'll use it for baby #2

Yep for naps and sleep. I want to move him to his crib but he sleeps so damn good in the rnp. Out bed is low so I love that I can sit up and reach over for him for night wakings and it makes it easy to soothe him to sleep.

@septemberlove: yup, we have the rnp next to our bed and he sleeps the best in it! he's 3 weeks old now. i do try to alternate and lay him on flat surfaces too - depending on his mood he sleeps well in the arms reach co-sleeper or on our bed too, but the rnp is his favorite.

S is almost 5 weeks, and sleeps in the RNP next to my side of the bed every night. She takes occasional naps in there too. She sleeps really well in it, and I love that its portable! I bring it in the bathroom with me and shower while she naps.

That's what I'm planning on doing, and what my sister did with my nephew when he was born, but I haven't actually done it yet. I like that it's so portable, I can move it into our bedroom at night, or into the living room or wherever we are during the day.

I'm thinking about having the rock n play in our room, next to my side of the bed. After we went to birth class at the hospital (which was also a little newborn care and postpartum care) we decided we really wanted LO in our room for the first few months since they'd said in the class that the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends infants sleep in the same room as their parents.

So we're leaning toward using the rock n play in the bedroom in lieu of a bassinet and I was just curious if anyone else went this route?
