We will move him to a toddler bed, potty train, and have him start preschool in the months before baby2 arrives! The only thing we're not doing is weaning from the paci (unless we hear differently from the dentist).

We transitioned DD out of her crib, which we wish we didn't do. I wish we just got another crib, and didn't mess with her awesome sleep! She did great for a couple months, but then started climbing in and out and she just loved her newfound independence (at our dismay, haha). Oh well, we eventually all adjusted! Not fun dealing with a newborn and a roaming free DD though.

We tried potty training before baby came, and I think she was still too young so we ended up halting and restarting about 6 months after DS was born. I'm glad for that because 2 in diapers is easier than trying to take a newly potty trained kid to the bathroom all the time + managing a baby.

The other transition was we had DH start doing all her baths and bedtime routines (mostly because I was pregnant, nauseous, and getting bigger and bigger so the leaning over was bad for my back and belly)... it worked out well because by the time the baby came, I could focus on the baby and DD was used to having DH do most things with her!

We did the big girl bed recently and are starting to potty train. She may also be moving countries, which is the one I'm most worried about for her.

We got rid of the pacifier over Christmas, but other than that we're avoiding transitions completely. He'll be 2 yrs 8 months when DD is born in May. We're hoping to potty train over the summer. And I never want to move him to a bed...but that will probably happen over the summer as well.

We totally avoided transitions! He was 15 months when ds2 came on the scene so the only things we had to avoid (and are totally still avoiding 6 months later) were binky weaning and transition out of crib...

He moved classrooms before his sister came but he PT'd, gave up his pacifier, and moved to a big bed AFTER his sister was born

prior to the arrival of #2?

DS transitioned to a big boy bed and potty trained in the last couple of months. He'll be starting preschool in May part-time, before his little brother arrives at the end of July!

The transitions have gone surprisingly smoothly and I'm hoping we've spaced it out enough that it hasn't been too overwhelming for DS!
