I wonder if she thinks a lot about it because my parents were trying for a boy. They had 3 girls and finally decided to try again for a fourth after 8 years since they were financially able to have more. Could the baby have been a boy? We will never know. She always got pregnant the second she tried, which is why I didn't share my infertility struggle with her. My stepmom though miscarried multiple times when I was a kid (I think 3 or 4) and went on to have one kid naturally and twins via ivf. Documented she had 4, however the doctors think that it is possible she was miscarring every time she was late. After having me and my sister she lost a baby again to a tubal pregnancy (along with losing a fallopian tube). She tried for a baby for 4 or 5 years? Then they adopted me! But then my mom ended up conceiving both my sisters after. I think I heard my mom telling someone once that her mom- who had 10 kids in I believe 17 years- had two miscarriages. I was young but I heard the convo where she was saying she was the oldest of 10, and how old the youngest is, and the other lady said "she had 10 in xx years?!?" and my mom said "yes plus two miscarriages." But I was young so I am not sure I remember right.
