I am speaking from a nanny point of view, but yes I was the structure queen when I was a nanny. I liked to do things at the same time everyday (within reason), it helped so much so the kids knew what to expect, the day ran so much smoother. Now with my LO, ha...we wing it during the day. She does have a routine at night though. I think it would be great to have someone help get a routine going!

I met with a nanny today who talked to me about how to get DD on a schedule. Our schedule is currently whatever Hot Mess Sleep/Eat schedule she wants on a given day. She mentioned that it's sometimes easier for nannies to help get them on schedules, bc it's easier for nannies to implement structure sometimes. I thought about it and it makes sense. Parents are just more emotionally attached and less likely to be rigid, I guess? Plus parents get pushed to limits that nannies don't get pushed to bc they're only with the child for a small portion of time. At 1am, when H hasn't gone down for the night yet and I'm exhausted, I consider doing things like co-sleeping- or anything that will result in sleep!
