Mom was always in the boosters for whatever organizations we did, Dad helped coach teams when we were younger. My dad came to support almost all of music events. It was nice because he lived four hours away. </p> <p>I had ONE soccer game ever and my mom said she "went to the wrong town." :( I spent the whole game looking for her then had to hitch a ride home. </p> <p>It felt so good when someone was there and so so crappy when they weren't. My mom missed a lot. She sewed theatre costumes and was in the boosters club. She also chaperoned a few trips to nationals. She worked FT when I was in HS, too. My dad came to a couple of the local events. </p> <p>They both came to plays in college! </p> <p>I tend to think that support and love can be shown in ways other than being at every event, although I give my mom major credit for doing everything she did. I think our relationship, especially in HS, was vastly better because she was around. They had to littles at home, one with special needs, so no, they didn't come to those things, but I honestly didn't mind. Everyone got all dressed up and we went as a family.</p> <p>They also came to all of my school music performances through highschool except for when I played in a pit orchestra. I wasn't allowed to participate in activities because I had to work after school. They didn't want to close the restaurant for two hours to attend my graduation. By the time I graduated college, they had retired and did attend. College was a bigger deal to them.
