I'm not a huge fan of small children referring to their elders by their first name, so I'm hoping that won't stick. </p> <p>My parents are just Grandma and Grandpa I think? My dad didn't want to be called grandpa so he chose something else, but it's cute and I love it. </p> <p>My mom didn't care, and so she was initally Nana. Then my son realized that everyone referred to her by her first name, and started calling her, "My {first name}. She loved that he was so possesive of her, and it stuck. He's 11 now, and dropped the "my" a couple of years ago. I don't like it, and think he should call her grandma or nana, but she thinks it would be weird if he called her anything else.
