They always left it running with the A/C or heat on, and instructed me to never unlock the door for anyone but them. I remember once my mom left the car on (super smart) and I must have been around 8 or 9, my brother was probably 11 or so and my sister was 2 or 3. Somehow she managed to put the car in neutral and we started to roll backwards. Luckily my brother grabbed my sister and I jumped over the seat to throw it back into park. Usually to pay for gas, or run into the store to grab milk or something. </p> <p>I remember one time I was in the car and my parents were talking to a mechanic (I think???) and I too the emerg brake off and the car started rolling backwards! scary. They got in and stopped it in time. I remember her first leaving me home alone to go to the gym when I was around 10.</p> <p>My little brother is 12 and my mom almost never leaves him home alone. He HATES being home alone. By the time I was 12, I was home alone every day after school until my mom got home around 7pm and if she had to work a night shift (4-12 ish), I would stay home alone.
