The tension between my parents and I was incredibly high at the time I went to college, and I'm pretty sure they'd been counting down the days just like I was. I moved four hours away and none of us were sad! And I moved 12 hours away. My mom didn't even come on the trip (I don't remember why), and my dad left about 2 hours after we got to my school.
