My mom was a SAHM and handled all *5* of us on her own. </p> <p>I don't know that my dad ever had us alone over night. I think he did an ok job? It was when were were older though (like 10 and above). The longest she was gone was 3 weeks, but that was only one time she was gone that long, and she was home on one of the weekends and on another of the weekends I went to visit her with my two bffs. Mom was a SAHM and starting around the time I was 12, my dad traveled quite a bit for work. From age 12-18 he worked/lived about 40% of the year in a different city.. first San Francisco, then NYC, and then India!
