I was actually really nervous to find out the sex because I didn't want to let anybody down! My brother and SIL live a few hours away and my parents love their daughter, they just don't get to spend as much time with her as they'd like. </p> <p>My FIL and SMIL REALLY wanted a granddaughter, but unfortunately don't prioritize spending time with her, despite living only 15 minutes away. In May, DH had an emergency appendectomy and we needed help with childcare for two weeks, since he stayed home with C at the time. SMIL said she had too much to get done on her day off to help. That really bothered us. They love her but have only seen her about 5-6 times this year. And those were all only when my SIL was home with her two boys. My nephews live about 4 hours away and see their grandparents much more often than we do. </p> <p>C is the only grandchild for MIL and SFIL so there's no contest! My SIL has been having infertility struggles for quite awhile, so I honestly sort of hope that their future child becomes the favorite. But the next one was a grandson and his eyes just lid up, he finally got his boy. DH and I were absolutely thrilled though. DS is all boy and is very wanted by everyone, think it just took a little adjustment period. We were TG so they had a long wait but sure enough, she was a girl!</p> <p>With DD2, again ILs didn't care as they had three of each at that point, but my parents were hoping for a girl so DD1 could have a sister close in age.
