I figure no point in registering for clothes, people are just going to buy what they think is cute anyway. We didn't register for any clothes but I did put a few toys on there just to satisfy people. I really wish we hadn't, however. Most of what was purchased from our registry was the stuff we didn't need. I wish we'd only registered for essentials. The rest of what we got wasn't even on the registry, though, so I'm not sure that taking that route would have helped.</p> <p>FWIW, I always like to buy a bunch of essentials and package it up like a little care package. Then I'll add an outfit or a book. I didn't do the blankets, toys or clothing. I'd rather people get me the things I NEED. I just put stuff in an assortment of prices. In my opinion, a bouncer is equally essential as nail clippers.<br /> Most of my guests added something extra like a cute hat or shoes or a toy. I don't want to spend my time registering for blankets, clothes, or toys... I figure people will buy what they think is cute, even if I took the time to register for toys or clothes. My hope is that people will buy something practical off the registry (everything except the carseat and stroller are very moderately priced, like $5-25) and then buy a cutesy gift of blankets, clothes, or toys.</p> <p>Was your registry full of essentials or fun stuff?</p> <p>When I buy from a baby registry, admittedly, I don't want to buy nail clippers or washcloths. I want to buy a play gym or something like that... So I guess that's why I'm a bit worried that people will be annoyed by my registry... but those are the items we really need.</p> <p>Any advice? What was your registry experience? </p>
