He was pretty stellar, but two things come to mind.</p> <p>First, we had to go in for an induction. They called in the am and said come in as soon as possible. We decided to get breakfast Sammie's and coffee nearby and he wanted to sit and chat and eat over them, meanwhile I was freaking out thinking about having a baby that day and I was like LETS EFFING GO!!!</p> <p>and two, we love playing cards and had been playing a bit before things got intense. We walked laps around the labor wing to get things moving and at one point he started talking to some nurses explaining how to play one of the games they'd seen us playing. It worked.</p> <p>I take that back. I did get pretty mad when he went to get food w/ his parents and my mom. He didn't even offer to get me anything or ask if I was okay with him going. I got so annoyed with the vibrating of the phone that I told him to turn them off right now and if I hear one more buzz I'm going to throw them out the window. Oops!! My doc arrived at the hospital and was popping into my room to say hi before he went to change into his scrubs. The curtain was pulled at my door, so poor DH just saw a male's jeans and shoes under the curtain. He totally thought it was some random guy coming into my room while my legs were spread open. Thank goodness our doc pulled back the curtain when he did, because DH was already flying across the room. The terrified look in my doctors face still makes me laugh! The only thing that pissed me off was out of DH's control When we went to the hospital the there was no parking in the 'stork' parking lot. DH had to go back out to the street and make a U-turn to get back into the other parking lot. The U-turn was mid-contraction and I just screamed at DH. </p> <p>The other thing he did didn't really bother me. He brought my recovery bag to labor instead of my laboring bag. I told him right away he had the wrong bag but he didn't believe me. Every time I asked for something I had packed he would tell me it wasn't there, this bag only has baby clothes with a bewildered look on his face. He also did not drive fast enough for my liking. Car contractions are no fun. I know he had to have been starving because he's a big eater but he was SUCH a trooper. Since it might not even be real labor, and even if it is, I probably wouldn't have the baby before he got back. And you know, his friend (C's godfather!) had already paid the greens fees. </p> <p>He did not go play. I have NO idea why I was so pissy except that I had raging pitocin contractions that were doing zero good down south. Yikes. </p> <p>The food thing--I made DH and my parents go get something to eat so I could have some time to myself in the room (see above peevy labor personality) and because I didn't want anyone eating in front of me. I said something about that the other day, and DH said, "Wait, why didn't we bring you something? You mean you didn't get to eat the whole time??"
