It's done and it wasn't too bad! A resident did the procedure and she told me that it was her first time, but she did such a good job. I barely even felt when the catheter went in, even though she said there'd be some discomfort. The rest was just weird/uncomfortable/crampy but not painful.</p> <p>As for the results, everything looked mostly normal. It took a long time for the dye to spill out of my right side so I had to flip from side to side to get everything moving. I'll be honest about the fact that this was not a test I liked very much. I almost passed out due to the pain (yes - I did take ibuprofen beforehand) likely because I have a blocked right tube and they had to do the test twice to double check. But it was over quickly and after resting for awhile, I was able to drive myself home. I almost called DH away from work to come and get me, but everything subsided really quickly. I did stay home from work, however, because of the cramping and that yucky discharge. I took ibprofen before the procedure as this may help with the pain and discomfort (for me, the discomfort was tolerable - it's a weird feelilng - but others have different experiences). It's a little uncomfortable for a few seconds, but it wasn't like I wanted him there. It was over so quickly that I would have felt bad wasting his time away from work. I felt totally fine after. You won't need to be driven home...it's a really simple procedure. I agree with @dagret - just make sure you have a thin pad. It was a very quick procedure...and he can't be near you anyways, since it is a giant x-ray machine. </p> <p>You don't need to be driven home afterwards. The hospital I'll be at is 40 minutes from his work and only two minutes from mine, so I figured even if I'm really uncomfortable, it's a short trip back to work for me. One of my co-workers knows about it too and she said she'd pick me up if I need her to. </p> <p>What do you guys think? Did you need driven home afterward? Did your SO come just for moral support or did you go by yourself? </p>
