Her midwife suggested a cocktail of castor oil and rootbeer to get things going and boy did it ever, haha. I used primrose oil, red raspberry tea, and eggplant parmesan. It didn't work, I was still induced at 40 weeks 6 days. </p> <p>With DS, I figured I would have to be induced again, so I started using primrose oil at like 36 weeks or 35, and he came at 37 weeks 1 day. It will basically just give you diarrhea and risk dehydration. There is a small chance that the intestinal cramping could encourage contractions but it's not worth the risk!! She said she has tried everything including castor oil, isn't this dangerous? I could maybe understand if she is past her due date, but 37 weeks is kind of early to be trying on your own to get labor started IMO. </p> <p>How do you feel about castor oil? At what point did you try to jumpstart labor? What measures would you go? </p>
