We're planning a beach trip, and LO will be 4 months. We'll keep her under the tent mostly. I grew up in a beach area. My parents took me to the beach for the first time when I was two weeks old. Our hotel is walking distance from the ocean though, so I will be able to walk her back. We plan on using lots of sunscreen, a sun hat, and a big huge umbrella for shade from the sun. I think the first time we took him he was about 4-5 weeks? We have UV pop-up tent he stays in, and I found him a little UV rash guard sun suit to wear, so he's pretty protected from the sun. With an umbrella/sun canopy I don't think it's a big deal. If anything, they're getting fresh air and beach people aren't as likely to try to touch the baby as mall people. Just be careful about blocking wind from getting sand on them, I know a LO who got a grain of sand in their eye &amp; it had to be surgically removed. Monitor for reaction to sand. Vitamin D is good for them but just need to take precautions.
