My right side doesn't produce as much and let down is slower. I will start E on the right, switch him when he gets fussy, and then switch back after he's a little more full and more patient.

I was just talking about this with the LC who runs the boutique I buy my nursing bras at. She was telling me about a mother she worked with who was an A cup on one side and a F cup on the other because LO would only nurse on the one side. DS will nurse on both sides but prefers the left (as did DD); overall I produce about the same on both sides although at different times of day one side will usually produce more than the other.

I had one overachiever boob but I still tried to get her to nurse from both sides.

For your LO it could be a difference in let down...
My left side produces much more so I've been trying to put her on the right first. Not sure what else to do to fix the problem!

Kind of. He was more comforable on the left side and the left was my overachiever. I worked full time and the morning/night feedings were mostly laying down, where I could get comfortable on either side. But on the weekends, he'd mostly eat from the left. I'd have to pump or lie down to get the right side empty.
I haven't nursed for 2 months (DS is 13 months) and I'm still lactating a bit.

I think it might eventually come down to this, but DS is gradually eating less and less from the right side. That side has always been the underproducer, but lately, DS has been developing a strong preference for the other boob. He will only eat on the right side for up to 2 minutes max and will fuss until I offer him the other side. I'm wondering if I should accept that eventually, my right side might just dry up and I'll have to rely solely on the left side. I know I could probably pump to try to increase the right side, but I'm wondering if it would be worth all the effort. (Yes, I'm lazy when it comes to pumping - I'm a SAHM!) So, just wondering if anyone else relied completely on one boob! DS is 6.5 months old and developing quite the stubborn personality, LOL!
