he's a really chilled relaxed baby, to the point where everyone has told me how uncommon it is to have a baby that is this good. we lucked out (knock on wood!) , the only time he really cries if he is hungry (oo he lets you know!) but he is so content.

My LO rarely cried in the beginning. She fussed like you described when she needed something, but only really cried for baths. Once she hit the stage where she "woke up" she was kind of a fussy baby for a while, but I've noticed over the past few weeks she's back to just crying when she needs something and is easily soothed.

I'm so happy to read this! I was starting to worry something was wrong with LO because she was TOO good! lol. She rarely cries. She'll cry if she's hungry and we're not fast enough getting her food, and she'll fuss a bit when she's tired but otherwise she is a quiet, happy baby. I laugh when she cries because I think it's cute. And yes, I realize how lucky I am and can't imagine how it would be if she cried all the time.

She fussed a lot. Maybe it wasn't full on crying. We always felt like she wasn't that comfortable on a milk diet. We saw a noticeable change at 6 months when we started solids. She was much happier.

Yes Evelyn cries a lot, in my opinion. Not as much as in the early, colicky weeks, but usually in the afternoons she cries if I set her down. And she doesn't like getting dressed. Sometimes you will be holding her and she will literally be smiling and a split second later start crying for now apparent reason. A few weeks ago she went through a stage where she cried if she even looked at my dad. In general, I feel she's a happy baby now, but is very sensitive.

There were a few evenings when L cried a lot (she had reflux) but for the most part, she was a really laid back newborn.

Shes still super good and cheerful. Only cries when she's hungry, sick of her carseat, or wants to be held.

Rarely as an infant. And when she did, I just popped a boob in her mouth. Now that she's a toddler, there's more crying when I've thwarted her little will. That's to be expected, I think.

My son cried for 12 to 15 hours every day for the first few weeks. He was then very upset until about 4 months old. He is Dairy and Soy intolerant and so he was constantly in pain. We have finally gotten his issues under control. So it was pretty hard on us.

No. She usually cries if she's hungry, or we don't get her out of the crib quickly enough. She is starting to realize that fussing will get her something, so I think we're starting to see more and more crying. However, she smiles while she's fussing...needs to work on her poker face.

My baby cried a lot for the first 8 weeks but then she really calmed down. Now she makes fussy noises and yells at the top of her lungs but only cries if she something is wrong and usually stops crying as soon as she sees me.

LO did cry a lot when she was little (under 8 weeks old) because she had colic due to digestive issues. Now she only cries when she has gas really bad; and as soon as we bicycle her legs and give her gas drops she stops crying.

She does do a fake cry already when she wants to be held but I’ve set her down – such a little drama queen.

@mediagirl: same!! He fusses when he starts to get unhappy and only really cries if I don't respond in time. He cries when he gets hurt - like banging his head on his crib (which he does a lot sadly!). He cries when he is overtired too. I never let him get hungry so I don't think he ever cries about that.

He hardly ever cries though so I know when he does he has a need.

olive was not a crybaby at all as a newborn. the only time she really cried was after her 2 month shots.

now she does have a bit of an attitude when she doesn't get her way (she hates getting dressed, leaving the playground, etc). but i wouldn't say that she cries a lot.

There are very few times when M actually cries. She makes fussy noises that usually tell me that she is unhappy and needs something but they hardly ever turn into a full blown cry. The only time she has really ever cried is when she was in pain (like from her shots). :(
