We are SO not a good example on this. With Ellie I was ultra-strict, but Lorelei is a classic second child in this respect: by the time she was one she could say "cake," "cupcake," "candy," "ice cream," "chocolate," and "cookie." Because she had, you know, tasted most of them. It's been hard to keep her from trying or at least wanting to try what big sister has. At least I can say that all of it except for the chocolate (which was decent chocolate, so not too junky in terms of artificial ingredients) was made by me at home. So yes, sugar, but no artificial stuff. And it's not like she eats it all the time. 'K.
