We're very traditional so I've always just thought of it as something that comes along with marriage. I went from an American name to another American name. My maiden name was a little easier to say and spell only because it was very phonetic. My last name now has a tricky silent G that trips people up. I do still get called by my maiden name a lot since I'm a teacher and was teaching before I got married. I'm proud to have taken my husband's name..I know how much it means to him and I love it when my father-in-law calls me Mrs.Married lastname. </p>
