But I've done LOTS of natural supplementation for mental issues and I know when something is actually working or not, never had anything act as a placebo. We'll see. I have actually done a little research on this, and in addition to the claims of helping PPD and increasing milk supply and the list goes on, I also read on so many places saying that “humans are one of the only species that does not ingest their own placentas after birth” and that was another reason that you should as well. Well the reason that most animals do indeed eat the placenta and afterbirth, is to make sure to keep predators away, and not attract them with the scent of blood. Humans are not animals.</p> <p>I personally don’t see any benefits. </p> <p>I’m not trying to start a debate by any means, but I’m just trying to shine light on the other side of the spectrum.
